Description
Goldring’s philosophy centers on faithfully reproducing the sound of the original recording, preserving every creative nuance, musical detail, and rhythmic element as the artist intended. The versatile E Series makes this goal easy to achieve, with each cartridge designed for straightforward installation on most budget to mid-range turntables. At the top of the range, the E3 cartridge features the same aluminium cantilever as the E2, but is equipped with a superior bonded super-elliptical (0.3 x 0.7 mil) stylus. This advanced stylus captures high-frequency detail more effectively than typical elliptical (0.4 x 0.7 mil) or spherical (0.6 mil) designs, thanks to its smaller front-to-back radius. The result is a noticeable reduction in sibilance, especially on dynamic vocal tracks.
Features
- **Introducing the E3 Cartridge:** Building on the E2’s aluminium cantilever, the E3 adds a superior bonded super-elliptical stylus. Its smaller front-to-back radius delivers enhanced high-frequency detail compared to standard elliptical types, significantly reducing sibilance—especially in high-level vocal recordings. - **Magnetic Duplex Technology:** Every cartridge in the range incorporates Magnetic Duplex Technology, utilizing a dual-magnet generator assembly. This enables more accurate stereo information retrieval, resulting in improved channel separation and a richer, more immersive soundstage. - **Expert Adjustment:** E-series cartridges are precisely micro-adjusted during production, with the stylus angle pre-set for optimal contact with the record surface. This ensures safe installation, optimised channel balance, and reliable performance throughout the cartridge’s lifespan. - **Stylus & Cantilever Options:** The E1 and E2 models feature spherical styli and a selection of cantilevers, making them excellent upgrades for budget, pre-fitted, or discontinued cartridges. The E3’s advanced super-elliptical stylus offers even greater detail retrieval for discerning listeners. - **Specifications:** - Colour: Violet - Cantilever: Aluminium - Stylus profile: Elliptical - Stylus radius: 0.3 x 0.7 mil - Frequency range: 20 Hz – 20 kHz - Channel balance: 1.5 dB at 1 kHz - Channel separation: >20 dB at 1 kHz - Sensitivity: 3.5 mV (1 kHz @ 5 cm/sec) - Load resistance: 47 kΩ - Fixing centres: 12.7 mm (0.5 in) - Playing weight: 1.5 g – 2.5 g (2.0 g recommended)
