A 24-volt condenser mic will work flawlessly on 48 volts. Many mics rated for as little as 9 volts can also run on 48 volts, but it’s important to confirm with the manufacturer first. However, a mic typically performs best when powered at its rated voltage. So, for a 48-volt mic, you’ll get optimal results with 48 volts of phantom power. The Phantom I is an excellent option for these requirements.
