Behringer PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer (1600 Watts)

Behringer PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer (1600 Watts)

"Researched and Fulfilled"

Feature:
There just seems to be all the buttons and knobs that are necessary for all we would need. I was worried when I read some reviews about the on-board effects. So far, I'm finding everything we need. I'm pleased to say that it all works well.

Quality:
This is the second piece of Behringer gear I own. It was perfect out of the box. All the knobs and controls feel solid and the same. No changes from one channel to another, etc. I've pushed it pretty hard so far and it still works. I hope it lasts a long time as it does what I expect out of it.

Value:
The 700watt power amp that I replaced with this purchase, cost more used than this whole unit!

Desirability:
As I mentioned before, the colors and the lay-out are great. Not sexy or flashy, just easy and usable.

Sound:
I am impressed! We use about 13 of the channels for vocals, keyboard and pedal steel. So far, the EQ on the individual channels has been all we've needed. I leave the Graphic EQ set flat. Never been able to do that before. There is lots of output. My speakers are old 8ohm cabs and there is still lots of volume. I use one channel for mains and the other for monitors and it works great. We play a very diverse range of music and I'm pleased to say that this board seems to cover it all well.

Ease of Use:
The layout is staight-forward and the colors used to separate the different sends are easy to see but not obnoxious. I really like the switch for going from mono to left-right channels and the speaker matching feature is cool.

Support:
I've never needed any repairs done yet but I did have a question and they got right back to me with an answer.

Overall:
Being able to use 2 effects at the same time, sent to mains and/or monitors, separate Graphic EQ's for mains and/or monitors was why I bought this model. I won't be for want of a different unit for the foreseeable future.

Usual Price: $599

Peavey XR8600D Powered Mixer

Peavey XR8600D Powered Mixer

Peavey XR8600D Mixer Customer Review

Sound:
This is a PA mixer that has it all! I have the 8300 at my school and bought the 8600 for my personal band. The new model has outputs to power both your mains and your monitors (4 outputs). The new model is so lightweight compared to the older models. It has more effects than you can ever imagine. It's a workhorse and all the music stores use this PA to rent out. That's how I found out about Peavey. It's the best!!!

Usual Price: $630

Mackie PPM1012 12-Channel Powered Mixer (Stereo, 1600 Watts)

Mackie PPM1012 12-Channel Powered Mixer (Stereo, 1600 Watts)

"DON'T OVERLOOK THIS ONE....THIS IS OUTSTANDING"

Feature:
After going to Mackie.com to get manual it was very easy for me to read and understand the setups and general functions. It would be nice if it had a third powered output. I have a strange situation where i need a third powered out for passive speakers set up outside and since the unit recomends not going below 4 ohm i am going to have to find an amp to mount in just for that plug.

Quality:
As i have never used Mackie equipment before i can only hope that it has long life. I have heard great things about Mackie so I can't wait to see for myself.

Value:
The product is well worth the price.

Desirability:
It looks fantastic and it is a practical application to my setup.

Sound:
I have never owned anything Mackie before. I have used Peavey mixers for years. I installed the Mackie PPM1012 power mixer into my DJ cabinet and after a couple of quick questions answered from your tech team i was ready to go. I do karaoke as well as DJing. I was nervous about the first show as i was only able to set levels in my garage to get a general idea of where to start. That was all i needed to not be embarrassed when I started with a full crowd. IT WENT FANTASTIC! A few minor tweeks and it was great. I have more control for the karaoke microphones from being able to mute each one when they are done singing to working the volume levels for a much better karaoke sound mix. I have completed 2 shows and can think of nothing bad to say. This power mixer has all the power i need for large events as well as small and with built in compressers controls karaoke feedback to a minimum if any at all. I have already been bragging to other djing buddies and i hope anyone looking for a power mixer will take a serious look at this unit. Thanks Zzounds for hooking me up with it.

Ease of Use:
This unit is fantastic.

Support:
I had just a couple of minor questions and each time I called they were very helpful and accurate.

Overall:
This seems to be a quality product that i believe will last a long time and when it comes time to replace it i will look first at Mackie products again.

Usual Price: $1100
