There once was a time when the only way to create music and make it sound professional was to hire a studio and engineer and get the job done by the pro’s. The studio would take up a space the size of a small aircraft hanger and have more buttons and twiddly nobs than the space shuttle.

Oh how times have changed. What was once the size of a football field can now be crammed into a laptop the size of a mouses briefcase….OK maybe not that small but the point is that the revolution in home computing has meant that the average person now has the technology to write music from the comfort of their armchair.

Although some music software can be extremely expensive their are lots of viable free alternatives. Read the rest of this entry »
