Feature:
I love that you don't need a preamp for the sound level to be quite loud in Garageband. *Note - in the Audio MIDI set up utility in Mac OS X you can create an aggregate device (basically, you can group several USB devices together into a single virtual device) when recording with garageband.
Quality:
The cable feels very sturdy and it is quite long so you can stand up and play with plenty of room to spare.

I found this easier that a USB audio interface.

There is a little pop and hiss in my connection but that may just be my cheap behringer strat or the cheap cable!

Plug-in. Adjust Audio-MIDI setting. Set Garageband to use your device for recording and you are good to GO!

I love Alesis products! They are some of the best available for the price.
Overall:
This product works quite well for my purposes. If you need a cleaner sound, expect to pay over $500.
